Vegetables 2020

Farm Stand for Vegetables

Farm Stand open Thursday, August 6
starting at 10 a.m. It is stocked with
green peppers, cucumbers, yellow beans,
kohlrabi, red and gold potatoes, yellow
summer squash, zucchini,
garlic, and red and yellow onions.

The Sweet Corn depends on how many
ripen overnight. We sold a great many ears
Wednesday. We thank everyone who
visited the stand on Wednesday!

The kohlrabi are the Kossak variety.
Kossak plants produce excellent yields
of incredibly large kohlrabi bulbs. The
bulbs can grow up to 10” wide. It is very
sweet, flavorful, and tender with no trace
of woodiness. They can be eaten raw,
used in coleslaw, cooked, or used in
Hungarian soups.)

You are welcome to place orders for
tomatoes and sweet corn for canning.

I received a great many orders for pickling
pickles. The hot, humid weather stalled
the production of the pickles. I will post
when I am able to take more orders. Maybe
after August 10 or so.

I planted another set of peas hoping for
better results later in the summer.

Coming Soon!
Tomatoes (Hoping to see more red soon)
Green Beans (maturing for next picking)

Strawberry Wisdom

If you are interested in reading a story about
living by faith on a strawberry farm, check out
Strawberry Wisdom.

The author, Deanna Greiling says, “In
Strawberry Wisdom, I share experiences and
my reflections on God's Word while living by
faith on my parents' strawberry farm
. With all the
turmoil and chaos in America and the world,
I pondered the stability God's truth provided in
the midst of chaos. I remembered His faithfulness,
provision and trustworthiness during times of
hardship. It will
encourage you with nuggets of
wisdom I discerned while observing the truth in
the Word fulfilled on the farm and in life.”
